Why Do They Follow Us Into the Bathroom?

I used to wonder whether dogs followed us into the bathroom because they thought they needed to protect us while we were vulnerable.Cute theory. 😂But there really isn’t good evidence that every dog following you into the bathroom has appointed themselves head of security.  The simpler explanation is probably the same reason they follow you everywhere else: you went somewhere, they like being near you, so they came too.And if they’ve been allowed to follow you through every other room in the house, they probably have absolutely no idea why this door suddenly requires privacy.
